2017 Schedule, General Policies and Guidelines

 BILTMORE KIWANIS RUNNER GUIDELINES AND TIMELINE

  • The race entry fee allows access to Biltmore for purposes of participating in the 15K or 5K race events only and allows access to the racecourse and Antler Hill Village areas for the event time alone. Participants are expected to drive straight to and from the race area. Wandering or exploring on the Estate in undesignated areas by foot or vehicles is not permitted.
  • Have tickets in hand and visible to stop and show when entering the front gate and until you park at Antler Hill Village, as it will speed the entry process for all.
  • Spectator viewing is limited to the Start/Finish area at the Winery. Spectators are required to purchase a ticket to enter the estate, available at packet pick-up through the Biltmore representative at DoubleTree on Saturday from 1—4 pm, and on Sunday morning starting at 6 am from the Group Sales Office at the front entrance of the Estate, for $23 +tax per person ($18 for Passholders) and House access can be added for $69 +tax to upgrade ticket to a 12-month pass. Upgrades may be purchased for $29 +tax to include a tour of the Biltmore House. Any child of a spectator between the ages of 10-16 will pay the regular spectator ticket rate of $23 +tax and children age 9 and younger, accompanied by their paying parent, will be admitted for free.
  • Biltmore passholders are required to buy a spectator ticket to watch the event. These may be purchased at packet pick-up at the DoubleTree Hotel or on race morning at the Gate Office.
  • Race tickets and Spectator tickets are non-refundable.
  • Unless upgraded, Participant/Spectator tickets are valid only for the race course and Antler Hill Village areas until 1 pm only. It cannot be used to access the Biltmore House & Gardens or view other areas of the property.
  • Course Time Limit: Due to the nature of the event being on Biltmore’s property, there is a time limit for the event. All runners must be done with their respective races by 9:45am. The 15k Runners must be past the Biltmore House by 9:15am. For the safety of the runners and the guests at Biltmore Estate, if 15k runners are not past the House by 9:15am,  our SAG vehicle will pick the runner up and take them back to the start/finish area.
  • Elite Athletes: There are no incentive funds or waivers for entry fees.
  • Inclement Weather:  In the event of dangerous weather conditions, the organizers reserve the right to cancel the race. Entry fees will be non-refundable.
  • No strollers, skateboards, bikes or dogs are permitted on the racecourse.
  • All vehicles must be parked in the designated parking areas. Parking on paved roads and blocking roads is not permitted. Car parked illegally will be ticketed and are subject to being towed.
  • Runners and spectators are encouraged to carpool.
  • All participants are expected to display courteous, professional deportment at all times.
  • All race activities on the property must be arranged in a manner that does not inconvenience our guests or intrude on their enjoyment of the Biltmore Estate.
  • Restrooms are located at the Winery, Antler Hill Village, the Conservatory, and along the race courses.
  • The Biltmore Company is not responsible for the security of personal belongings.
  • In case of emergency, EMS vehicles will be positioned near the Estate Reservation & Ticket Center and near the start line. In the event of an accident or emergency, call (828) 225-1234. Biltmore security staff can call for EMS, the Fire Department, etc., and assist in making sure you get help as quickly as possible.
