To complete THE ROYAL TRIFECTA CHALLENGE, runners must successfully complete three of these 2014 Biltmore races:

RoyalTrifectaLogoThe 2nd Annual Asheville Marathon & Inaugural Half on March 16th, 2014

The Kiwanis Classic 15k or 5k race on May 18th, 2014

The Du the Asheville Du or 10k Trail Run on September 14th, 2014

Those who successfully accomplish the task will receive their retribution at the close of the Asheville Du. Finishers will receive a special ‘ROYAL TRIFECTA CHALLENGE AWARD’ and other royal prizes! If you can “Du the Du” or 10k, go the distance in the marathon or half, and lay down a classic performance at the Kiwanis race, all that separates you from some sweet prizes are the distances that make up our Biltmore races and the manpower (or womanpower) needed to cover them.

All for fun, and fun for all, this Biltmore experience will surely be the stuff of legend. The gauntlet has been thrown down. The cup is up for grabs. Do you have what it takes to triumph over the ROYAL TRIFECTA CHALLENGE?  Use discount code ROYALTRIFECTA when registering via imathlete to get a special 10% discount off your race registrations.

2014 Biltmore Kiwanis Classic: 17 years of Beauty & Performance

Great news area runners! Registration for the 17th Annual Biltmore/Kiwanis Classic 15k/5k races is OPEN!!! Set for May 18th, 2014, this annual gala of speed and stamina is once again ran entirely upon the scenic grounds of Biltmore Estate.

The race is capped to the first 1,100 entrants. Early registration is encouraged as we expect this event to sell out early again this year! All participants will receive a specially designed commemorative race t-shirt. Additional information is available online at the race website: http://biltmorekiwanisclassicrace.com.

The 15K begins at the Winery, climbs to Deerpark Restaurant.  Following is an undulating descent and rise along the main road to Biltmore House, where runners will loop in front of the massive main entrance doors. Next, runners will enter the Walled Garden, pass by the Azalea Garden and lagoon along the French Broad River, and then kick to the finish on their return to the Winery. The first half of the course has a challenging duo of hills, while the fast final half covers downhill to flat terrain. The 5K course will be a flat, out and back course starting at the Winery and paralleling the French Broad River where a hard pace can be set from gun to tape.

The race will directly benefit a great local organization dedicated to meeting the needs of our surrounding community. Competing in this event you will be helping fund the efforts of Kiwanis Children’s Charities in their efforts to support local youth programs. Among these, our Asheville Chapter Kiwanis Club provides book bags filled with school supplies each fall to children in need to set them off right for the new school year. Promoting attendance and punctuality in local elementary schools, the club also gives away a bicycle each quarter through a drawing to children with perfect attendance and punctuality.

Are you ready to get serious about competition, community, and camaraderie amidst the beauty of Biltmore and 1100 of your closest friends? If so, hop on the bandwagon and let us take you to this classic race! For more info, please visit the official race site page or contact events@idaph.net.
